Background:
POLCA-T is a coupled computer code developed at Westinghouse for transient thermal-hydraulic and 3D neutron-kinetic analysis of BWRs (Boiling Water Reactor). In its analysis, POLCA-T uses a BWR model to simulate events. The model contains a large amount of information on the components of the plant. This data is today managed using a very simple command line based tool which is good enough for setting up the model but there are no good tools for analyzing models and calculation results in a graphical and pedagogical way.

Project Goal:

-Investigate methods that in the best possible way can be used to support the engineers in their work with plant modeling and analysis of calculation results

-With involvement from the user community, define requirements for a system fulfilling the needs in the plant modeling work and analysis of calculation results

-Define a preliminary design for the system

-Develop prototypes to support choice of methods and receive user acceptance

Master Thesis Report:

-The Westinghouse report(s) shall be written in English

-The Master Thesis report can be written in either Swedish or English
