R & D: System level management and design.

Description of unit
This unit works at the forefront of R & D in radio and software technologies for 3rd generation wireless radio base stations. We are committed to producing high quality software using the latest and best technologies and know-how. The unit has the design responsibility for radio base station application SW. The department is responsible for systemization, integration and verification of the SW.

Thesis description
This is an opportunity to work in the forefront of telecom development. A tool called QuickCheck was made by a couple of university professors that with a set of smart functional rules could generate test cases. The thesis is about using QuickCheck to autogenerate Nbap messages against a given specification.
The Nbap protocol is used within the WCDMA Radio Access Network.
The presentation and report shall consider aspects as usability, performance, coverage etc.
The job will include implementations in the Erlang based test environment.

Competence
We seek Computer Science Master students who would work on this for their Master thesis.
Requirements are a genuine interest for SE programming and willingness to learn new programming languages.
Good skills in communication and co-operation, good command of the English language, both in writing and conversation.
