*Aim of the project*
In an ongoing project at the Swedish Defence Research Agency, FOI, we have investigated the BOM concept and its feasibility for development of an automatic process for component-based simulation model development. In this process we have utilized the work done in semantic web technology and Web Services to enhance the semantic expressiveness of BOMs. We have also investigated how BOMs can be identified, mapped and composed based on SRML descriptions of target simulations.
The aim of the thesis project is to define an agent-based environment for discovery of BOMs based on predefined search criteria (deducted from the SRML description) and presentation of different combination of components that match the SRML description.
The work should be exemplified with a simple implementation. The candidate(s) should have a background in computer science, good knowledge in distributed systems and Java. Knowledge of Grids and Peer-to-Peer systems is also a benefit.
