Description

Development of method to characterize viscoelastic properties of board by dynamic-mechanical analysis DMA (20 p)

Stora Enso Research intends to use DMA to characterize carton boards. This method is standard in polymer testing but not as common in the paper board industry. This method development project is aimed at characterizing boards and packaging materials using the DMA analyzer at Karlstad University.

The work includes; a literature study, implementation of the DMA technique for board (this is the main part of the work), and experiments (the test program will be defined after the literature study).


Requirements

Time schedule: Five months, preferably starting from June 1st, 2007

Suitable background/courses: Previous courses in “Pappersteknik” or “Materialteknik” or “Maskinteknik” would be helpful.

Condition: Registration at Karlstad University is required during the project.
