Industrial MSc-thesis in web-mining and artificial intelligence

This MSc-project is a collaboration with the Swedish job-search enginge, Workey.se. Workey is best described as the google of job-searches. (See www.workey.se)
Their crawlers use simple data-mining algorithms to collect information on announced jobs on several of the biggest job-advertising sites.
The aim of the project is to help develop AI-algorithms for better search results and querie understanding. There are several ways of improving the data-mining of such data;
1. User-clickthrough data and machine learning algorithms can be used to improve page-ranking and even make it user-specific.
2. Pattern-recognition and text-classification algorithms may help finding meta-correlations in data.
3. Improving crawler by intelligent crawler-techniques.

The student must have strong knowledge in machine learning and data-mining. Strong programming skills are also important, specially in relation to MySQL and php-programming. Interest in relational databases and pattern recognition is useful.
