Environmental effects of transportation from a logistic point of view

Description of Company/Unit:
Ericsson Network Technologies is a legal company within Ericsson´s business unit Networks (BNET). Our company is represented in Falun, Hudiksvall and Kista. Production of cables is located to Falun and Hudiksvall. In the Kista office we have Sourcing & Supply, Research & Development and marketing units located.
Supply & Sourcing work with Supply Chain Management, Supply, Sourcing & Quality Assurance.

Thesis/Paper Description:
The aim with this examination job is to evaluate environmental effects of transportation from a logistic point of view.
First of all a method to evaluate and continuously measure environmental effects should be created.
Important questions are then:
How do different kind of transports affect environment?
Which kind of activities shall be done to do a cost effective minimization of environmental effects from transports?
How can logistic flows lower environmental effect from transports?

Requested Competence:
We foresee that the applicants are M.Sc. students or similar. The applicants must have documented experience from courses in environmental management.
The applicants would spend their ex job time at Ericssons office in Kista.
