JAVA as part of a safety-critical real time system

The purpose of this project is to explore the possibilities of integrating a JAVA engine and application(s) in an existing embedded real time system for safety-critical telematics . It will require an analysis of the effect on the existing functionality as well as practical selection and porting of a java engine, implementing measures necessary to guarantee the real time functionality and testing the system with running java application.
