Imaging with a hard X-ray microscope

Until recently imaging with hard x-rays using refractive lenses has not been possible. In 1999 our group proposed the Saw tooth refractive lens as a versatile tool and the first evaluation was published in Nature in 2000. Since then we have refined the concept and we are now in a phase of the research when it is time to evaluate possible applications in biology and in material research. The goal for the diploma thesis will be an experimental and theoretical study of such possible applications that this new instrument enables.
