Conserved Locations of Genes in Relation to Gene Expression and Replication

Introduction:
A gene's location along the microbial chromosome has been shown to be of importance for the expression of a gene in connection with genome replication. This new type of regulation is presently only described for a few genes. This project aims at using computational means to search for additional genes with putative similar properties.

Aim:
Computational characterization of genes with conserved chromosomal locations in relation to its expression pattern and genome replication.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in programming and basic knowledge of molecular biology. Additional experience in bioinformatics and genomics would be beneficial.
