Your experience
You are Molecular biology student and an interest in physiological characterization of transgenic mouse models.

Work at AstraZeneca
Molecular biology, bioluminescence assays, immunoassays, in vivo analysis of mouse models.

This project aims to validate these models using in vivo assays of cancer and inflammation.
In addition new models may be considered and suitable plasmid DNA constructians will be generated using standard molecular biology techniques and tested in vitro through bioluminescence and immunoassay in cell culture.

Macrophages are immune cells involved in a range of inflammatory responses associated with specific diseases including obesity. We are in the process of generating in vivo models designed to allow functional imaging of inflammation in vivo. Models where macrophages are engineered to emit light or express specific transporters under the regulation of a macrophage specific promoter permit the use of bioluminescence and Magnetic Resonance Imaging techniques to be employed to look at inflammatory responses in vivo.
