Master Thesis: Noise cancellation in mobile phones

Ascom develops and produces among others cordless telephones with additional functions. A problem with cordless phones used in industrial environment is background noise which deteriorates the readability for the receiver. In order to solve this problem we need to develop a noise canceling system that can distinguish background noise from speech and thereby improve the readability.
The master thesis shall be done to examine possible ways to improve the readability for cordless handsets in noisy environments. In the project you will be working with audio simulations, audio measurements, DSP programming, analog circuitry and mechanical solutions.

20 weeks, 2 persons
