Epidemiological study - Infectious diseases contracted abroad compared with unique Swedish travel data
OBS! ANSÖKNINGSTIDEN FÖR DETTA EXJOBB HAR LÖPT UT.
International travel has grown and destinations tend to change to outside Europe. A majority of infectious diseases reported in Sweden, such as food- and waterborne diseases are contracted abroad. By comparing unique Swedish travel data to surveillance data of infectious diseases reported to the Swedish Institute of Infectious Disease Control (Smittskyddsinstitutet) trends can be identified. Risks of contracting infectious diseases in various countries can be calculated and compared over time. A basic analysis of risks of 10 different infectious diseases in various countries has already been performed but needs deeper descriptive and statistical analysis. The travel data can also be used for further development and analysis.
We are therefore looking for a student who is interested in epidemiology, infectious diseases and travelling, statistics and data analysis.
