Improved Network Behaviour
Ericsson is a world-leading provider of telecommunications equipment and related services to mobile and fixed network operators globally. Over 1,000 networks in 140 countries utilize our network equipment and 40 percent of all mobile calls are made through our systems. We are one of the few companies worldwide that can offer end-to-end solutions for all major mobile communication standards.
Radio Network Competence Center (RNCC), is a Technical Competence center for PDU GSM RAN System Management, it is located in Kista outside Stockholm. We work as a fourfold bridge between the design units, sales units, research and operators around the world.
The applicant/applicants would preferable start as soon as possible and would spend their thesis time at Ericssons office in Kista outside Stockholm.
The amount of users in a GSM Network varies from day to day and from hour to hour. The thesis work aims at using the available information and experiences to predict the traffic load in cells. This is done using measurement data collected in a real GSM Network.
The thesis work contains the following steps:
- Investigate what have been done in this area before.
- Suggest at least one prediction algorithm that uses Artificial Intelligence.
- Process measurement data in algorithm/algorithms and analyze the outcome.
- Report writing.
The Thesis is a Masters Degree Project. The applicants should be from M.Sc. Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent and have documented courses in Artificial Intelligence.
Language: Good English, both written and spoken.
