Angiogenesis and obesity

Like tumor growth, we have recently found that fat growth is also dependent on angiogenesis. We have prooved the concept that angiogensis inhibitors might be useful for the prevention and treatment of obesity in mice. We are developing novel therapeutic approach by targeting the vasculature in the adipose tissue. Using gene chip analysis, we have identified several interesting molecules that might be responsible for development of the adipose tissue. Currently we are working on novel approaches to target adipose vasculature for the treatment of obesity.
