Research project about recycling technology for nutrients from households - 4 students

The City of Göteborg, Department of Sustainable Water & Waste - http://www.kretslopp.goteborg.se - is searching for 4 students within a research project about recycling technology for nutrients from households. These students should study process chemistry, environmental engineering or similar. It¿s an advantage if the students have laboratory and practical skills.
The main goal of the project is to study treatment alternatives to recover nutrients (P, K, S and N) from black water (waste water from toilets & kitchen waste disposers) for re-use in agriculture. The nutrients should be recycled as fertilizer products that fulfill all requirements of the farmers¿ organization.

1. Membrane filtration, (RO) TILLSATT!
2. Chemical precipitation TILLSATT!

4. Fertilizer production including SCWO (Super Critical Wet Oxidation

The work of student 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 respectively can eventually be combined into two larger diploma works. Another possibility is cooperation between two students who divide on the responsibility of the two tasks.
All students should produce reports in which tests and results are described and conclusions are drawn. The students will mainly be supervised by the project team which is responsible for the tests at Skogaberg. The heart of the project team consists of two project leaders from the City, one process consult and one membrane consult. Scientists at the University shall also take part in the scientific supervision of the students.

Conditions
According to the general policy of the department, no salary is given to Diploma workers.
