Mesh generation in electromagnetism

OBS! ANSÖKNINGSTIDEN FÖR DETTA EXJOBB HAR LÖPT UT.
An ongoing project at the Dept. of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering deals with numeric modeling of electromagnetic properties. The method that is used is entitled the partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) method and was developed at IBM in the early 70s. When solving electromagnetic problems using the PEEC method, the volumes/surfaces of the objects needs to be discretized into small cells for which the variables currents and charges) can be considered constant. The mesh generation is an extremely important aspect of electromagnetic modeling and impacts on solution speed, accuracy, and stability. Further, meshing routines needs to consider both geometrical and physical constraints during the spatial discretization. The thesis goals are to (1) make an in-depth study on available mesh generators (commercial and open source), (2) implement a suitable mesh generator in our experimental C++ based PEEC code, and (3) perform tests on how the discretization effects on PEEC solution accuracy.

You need basic knowledge in C++, circuit theory, and
electromagnetics.
