Characterization of the process of electrochemical patterning

OBS! ANSÖKNINGSTIDEN FÖR DETTA EXJOBB HAR LÖPT UT.
Semiconducting and conducting polymers or molecules have successfully been included as the active material in many different electronic devices such as field-effect transistors, light emitting diodes and different electrochemical devices. In electrochemical devices both electrons and ions is utilized as the charge carriers. These projects are currently available:

A novel method for patterning conductive polymers was developed in Acreo AB within the PAELLA project. This method uses the well-known phenomenon of overoxidation to selectively deactivate the conductivity of the polymer in order to define a pattern. The goal is to have a flexible process that can be applied in combination with different printing tools to offer flexible digital printing, high-resolution patterns and high-volume processes. The main thread is to have a low cost patterning method for the conducting polymers. The goal with this project is to characterize the process of electrochemical patterning, using the plotter. The aim is to determining the dependence of the resistance and the width of the overoxidized lines on the process parameters (such as: Patterning speed, voltage, chemical composition and the concentration of the electrolyte).

Qualification
We look for M.Sc. students with interest in learning more about organic electronics with a background of either physics, chemistry, electrochemistry or electronics.
