Development of SW drivers on a microcontroller
Automotive manufacturers and suppliers has formed an alliance, AUTOSAR, with the purpose to develop and establish a de-facto open industry standard for automotive E/E architecture. This standard includes a layered SW architecture on micro controllers
The AUTOSAR standardization work will drastically change the approach to development of vehicle electronics, reaching full impact in 2008 or 2009. By that time Teleca will be one of the AUTOSAR solution providers and perhaps also supplier of AUTOSAR software components.
Teleca is now interested in investigate and evaluate AUTOSAR architecture with focus on the lowest software layer (Hardware Abstraction Layer). Teleca is intending to use an internal developed HW platform as target platform for the thesis.

# Analysis of AUTOSAR standard and AUTOSAR layered architecture
# Analysis of Teleca HW platform.
# Strategy and design on how to implement AUTOSAR Hardware Abstraction Layer.
# Planning the practical part.
# Market analysis of suppliers of AUTOSAR Basic Software and AUTOSAR RTE.
# Implementation of AUTOSAR Hardware Abstraction Layer on HW platform. This includes mainly a number of drivers for I/O, Memory, Communication and Microcontroller.
# Write thesis report
# Implementation of a demonstration facility, for example a narrow subset of layers above to enable one single service up to top layer, such as CAN Communication.
# Perform a presentation and demonstration.
Required Qualifications and Profile:
# Master of Science within electronics or computer engineering, or equivalent
# Knowledge of C Programming is required
# Knowledge of Embedded software develeopment, FPGA and automotive industry is an advantage
# Experience from related fields is an advantage
